One of the most anticipated movies of 2010. A new step to CGI. A magical adventure. Is it really all of these things? Read on to find out.
This Tim Burton directed film has earned much mixed reviews all over the world. But is it really worth all of the praise. Well first, let's talk about the CGI and Special Effects. Let's get one thing straight. The special effects in this film are probably my 2nd favorite (behind Avatar). I mean its just JAW-DROPPING how BREATHTAKING it is. The big-headed Red Queen, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the Death Bird, the Cheshire Cat,the Jabberwocky, and much, much more. But, you have to see this movie in 3D to fully experience this new take on Animation. Next, let's talk about the AMAZING acting! I would 1st like to give praise to Helena Bonham Carter who plays the evil Red Queen which shes plays so amazingly that this is probably her best performance ever! Another, is Johnny Depp who plays the crazy Mad Hatter. Depp is known for playing these weird roles (Edward Scisscorhands,Captain Jack Sparrow) and this part was probably such a match for Depp that if it wasn't played by him the movie would be incomplete. My Last Praise I'd like to give out is for Anne Hathaway who plays The White Queen and I actually think that that this is one of her better performances. Lastly, let's talk about the story. A 19-year old Alice returns to Wonderland which she first came to as a little girl, reuniting with her childhood friends: White Rabbit, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the Dormouse, the Caterpillar, the Cheshire Cat, and of course the Mad Hatter. Alice must embark on a fantastic journey to find her true destiny and end the Red Queens reign of terror. To me, this new Alice story is a great new adaption to the Alice in Wonderland story and probably the best adaption yet.
To sum up my review "The Tim Burton directed Alice in Wonderland adaption is probably the best adaption yet and it takes a new step to CGI-Animation and I would give it a 9 and an A!" Peace!
